SAFETY FIRST

Gas company shut off your gas because of a leak?

If you smell gas or suspect an active leak, leave the area immediately. Avoid switches, flames and phones in the affected area. From a safe location, call 911 and your gas utility. Stay away until responders say it is safe to return. Do not try to find or repair the leak yourself.

Get help with the repair after the emergency

A gas shutoff can leave your property without heat, hot water or working appliances. Once emergency personnel have addressed the immediate danger, contact Rescuetek for gas pipe repair and post-repair system pressure testing. For affected heating equipment, see furnace repair or boiler repair. A sounding CO alarm needs immediate evacuation and a 911 call.
If the utility left a notice, keep it available for the technician. Tell us which equipment is affected and whether the reported problem involves piping inside the building or elsewhere on the property. The repair scope starts with the actual finding—not an assumption that every gas interruption needs the same repair.

Gas Pipe Repair FAQ

What happens next?
We review the reported condition, assess the requested repair and explain the proposed work. Rescuetek performs gas pipe pressure testing after repairs to check the repaired system for leaks. Any required inspection, utility approval and service-restoration steps must be confirmed for the property and utility involved. Completing repairs and pressure testing does not by itself authorize turning the gas back on or guarantee immediate restoration.
Can I turn the gas back on myself?
Do not attempt restoration yourself. Follow the utility's instructions and the applicable clearance process.
What should I have ready?
The utility notice, property address and a description of the affected equipment, if already known. Do not reenter an unsafe building to collect them.
Can you give a price from the notice alone?
The notice helps establish the concern; access, extent of damage and the confirmed repair scope determine the estimate.
